Humble Beginnings

Josh Bishop started Positive Electric LLC in February of 2012 in Hudson, MI. 

It had been Josh’s desire to own his own business since before he started working. After going through his apprenticeship, getting his hours, and completing all the testing required for the licensing he started the business. The first employee was hired in September of that same year and we hired additional employees each subsequent year for the next several years. We are still always looking for skilled employees with integrity and outstanding character to build our team.

Focusing mainly on residential construction for the first 3-4 years, our work ranged from small service calls up to custom-built lake homes. We then started branching out into commercial work and slowly began to add commercial customers to our list while maintaining our residential customers. We also became dealers for Briggs and Stratton standby generators and started providing installation and maintenance services to our customers. We now work in most electrical installation sectors and you can find us on any given day working on residential, commercial, industrial, agricultural, educational, or low voltage cabling jobs. Early in 2022 we started our first remote branch in Saint Johns MI, and it has been growing quickly.

Josh has held a high standard for customer and employee satisfaction throughout the years, and this continues to be a culture that we strive for as a company. We are consistently looking for ways to improve upon these and strive to do better each year. Looking towards the future we’d like to add to our team people that have the same mindset as our company culture. This means increasing the customers we can serve as well as providing satisfying employment in a field that is growing and rewarding.
